pdfff writes a normal visible PDF with selectable text and images, plus the editable pdfff source embedded inside it.

One file for reading and editing

The visible PDF is useful for people and multimodal tools. The embedded pdfff source preserves ordered text and image bytes so the original document can be reopened and edited with pdfff.

Documents pdfff can reopen

pdfff only reopens documents it created. It does not edit arbitrary PDFs.

Useful when notes include evidence

Use it for implementation notes, bug reports, research, requirements, or handoffs where text alone cannot retain the important visual context.
