pdfff workflow

Paste screenshots into terminal notes

On macOS, pdfff lets you paste a screenshot or copied PNG/JPEG file into a terminal note, then continue writing below it.

A short macOS workflow

  1. Run pdfff notes.pdf.
  2. Copy a screenshot with macOS or copy PNG/JPEG files in Finder.
  3. Press Ctrl+V in pdfff.
  4. Keep typing and save with Ctrl+S.

Clipboard shortcuts

Cmd+V pastes terminal text. Direct image clipboard pasting uses the Ctrl+V workflow above and is currently macOS-only.

Why save as an editable PDF

The PDF is readable on its own and can be reopened in pdfff later. It keeps selectable text, visible full-resolution images, and editable source together in one file.
